Quartz is becoming more and more popular in Quebec kitchens and bathrooms. Its many qualities and the plurality of colors and textures available make it possible to build perfect countertops regardless of the style desired. One of the best qualities of quartz is its smooth and non-porous surface. This characteristic implies a worktop that is difficult to stain and very easy to clean. In addition, quartz is the ideal solution in the kitchen because it limits the growth of bacteria. Quartz is also one of the strongest materials on earth. Its high resistance to shocks will overcome the daily routine of all households. However, it is not recommended to cut food directly on the worktop to avoid scratching the surface. On the other hand, quartz has one major weakness: heat. Thus, it is absolutely necessary to use underplates to avoid damaging the countertop. With a little care and regular maintenance, quartz will keep its natural shine for many years. ## The vast choice of quartz explained The other great quality of quartz is the vast choice of colors and textures available on the market. Indeed, the possibilities are almost endless and you will surely find the perfect style to complete your kitchen. Whether it is modern, country or classic, quartz can be integrated into any environment. This variety is possible because of the manufacturing process of this material. Unlike granite or marble, quartz countertops are made from engineered stone developed in a factory. From natural stone and industrial waste, manufacturers create hundreds of styles by combining different colors and materials. The whole thing is then mixed with a polymer glue or resin to offer this material so strong. Depending on the combination, the countertop will be more matte or glossy. He can also obtain a pattern that mimics marble and granite. In addition, the manufacturer can add color pigments to create a yellow, cyan or even fuchsia quartz. Whatever countertop you dream of, you're sure to find the perfect option at a much lower cost than marble or granite.
